Brrr baby! For those of you in the deep freeze, and for those of us where even in AZ it can get down in high teens to low 20s at night here is what we have done in our first winter full timing!

Even Nutmeg was not too pleased by wet, cold paws!

Mid January snow in Benson AZ. Still dipping down into the high teens and low 20s at night! Good news is, even if we get snow it melts typically by 3 pm the next day. We are getting mid 50s during day if sun is out!

Note: a tip shared with us from another full timer was to put household Reynolds qrap around the PVC pipes first to help the conductivity of the heat tape to plastic pipes.

Kitchen aluminum foil acts as a better heat conductor for pipe heat tape than applying directly onto the PVC pipes.

This is our discharge area with black and get valves and on the shady side of our Avion.

-After Kevin installed this electric heat tape (follow heat tape instructions, cannot lay over itself) he put the foil backed batting type insulation used to wrap hot air furnace trunk lines etc stuffed into the whole bin. We forgot to take photos of this, sorry!

And we have a sheet of reflectix against the inside of the alluminum bay door. Seems to be working well. We only ever hook up the slinky when draining tanks.

Hope your winter is a good one!

Kevin and Luise
